Vital part required to circulate coolant around engine. Heat produced by engine combustion is absorbed by coolant which then passes through radiator to cool down before returning to engine. Water pump is situated between radiator and engine and driven by pulley through timing belt or fan belt. Water pump causes coolant to circulate.
Consists of body (aluminum diecast, cast iron, aluminum gravity etc), flange(forged steel, sintered iron etc), impeller (pressed steel, cast iron, synthetic resin etc), water pump bearing and mechanical seal kit.
Its material is decided dependent upon performance level, quality as well as customer requirements and working conditions. Revolution power of crankshaft is transmitted to impeller through water pump bearing. Impeller vanes drive coolant out into circulation jacket.
Vortex chamber of water pump filled with coolant is separated from water pump bearing by mechanical seal kit.
A sliding seal, like mechanical seal kit, must be lubricated all the time it is moving by coolant fluid.
Engulfed(lubricating) coolant evaporates out into water pump bearing side and exits through weap hole on body.

Drive shaft incorporated with universal joint is widely in use not only in automotive industry but also all other industrial scenes. Purpose: high torque transmission in limited space. GMB is specialized in universal joint, key element of module like drive shaft or propeller shaft. GMB is able to meet different requirements and shaft sizes of OEM customers. GMB maintains production and engineering knowledge and experience to produce universal joints of the highest quality viable under all conditions at economical cost.
Power transmitting drive shaft utilising minimum space requirements connects driving shaft to driven shaft at an angle through smooth mechanism of universal joint. Normally a set of 2 universal joints is installed into a shaft. On assembly, it is important to position at①same working angle, ②same plane and ③same phase in order to realize constant velocity.
Universal joint consists of spider(cross) and 4 grease-filled roller bearings. It can transmit large torque at low friction. Spider with journal pegs and bearing cases as outer ring were hot forged or cold formed and machined. They are later carburized in furnace so that increased ruggedness and wear resisitance are obtained. Parts are finally ground to designed size under severe tolerance. Oil seal as well as dust cover are also in use to protect internal journal area from intrusion of foreign material. Variety of grades and materials are selected to repond to extreme conditions such as very hot / very cold temperatures.
